The mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, reported on effective coordination with the prosecution to follow up on complaints regarding violations of closure seals. He emphasized that daily checks are conducted to ensure compliance with land use and urban development regulations. To date, not a single change of land use has been authorized during his administration.

Regarding violations of closure seals, Tabe highlighted the importance of combating these actions, stressing that it is not just about breaking plastic, but about challenging the authority and assuming criminal responsibility. He urged residents to report irregular works or violations of suspension or closure seals, promoting citizen participation in monitoring regulatory compliance.

César Garrido, general director of Government and Legal Affairs, explained the protocol after identifying the breach of seals, which involves filing complaints with the prosecution and placing barriers to maintain the suspension of the work. The aim is to prevent the re-entry of workers and materials. It was also mentioned that closure actions do not guarantee the protection of the property, as this is the exclusive responsibility of the prosecution.

To address cases of developers disrespecting the law, Tabe emphasized the need to impose strict penalties. He pointed out that violating closure seals is a crime under CDMX legislation, with prison sentences ranging from two to seven years. The mayor requested the prosecution to follow up on investigations for these violations, having filed 29 complaints to date, resulting in the seizure of two properties and the suspension of nearly 200 irregular works.

It was mentioned that the areas where more verifications are demanded for land use are Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec, San Miguel Chapultepec, Anáhuac, and Granada. Tabe highlighted the importance of eradicating impunity in these cases through close communication with the prosecution, stressing the need to penalize those who, despite measures, continue with illegal construction.
